How to Use

ALIGNED treats an Instagram carousel like the continuous spread of a magazine — every page connects left to right, and objects can sit across page boundaries. This page walks you from creating a project to exporting it, in about five minutes.

1Create a Project

Tap “+” at the top right of the home screen → New Project: choose a ratio (1:1, 4:5, 16:9, or custom — portrait or landscape) and a page count.
You can add more pages anytime; a project holds up to 20 pages (Instagram's carousel limit).

2Add Photos

Tap “Photo” in the toolbar to pick images, then use Quick Fill for a one-tap layout: across pages, full page width, or full page height.
The four corner dots resize proportionally; the four edge capsule handles crop — the photo stays put, only the frame moves.
“Crop” opens a full-screen editor: straighten, lock to a fixed ratio, or reset to the original photo.
“Appearance”: rounded corners, oval mask, and stroke outline.

3Text & CJK Typography

Tap “Text” to add a block, then double-tap to start typing.
Character: font (Frequent / Chinese / Japanese-Korean / English / Custom categories), size, weight.
Style: color, shadow, text background; six preset slots store your favorite looks — tap to apply, long-press to overwrite.
Align: horizontal/vertical position; switch to vertical (top-to-bottom) writing with one tap, with a choice of starting direction.
Advanced typography: letter spacing (%), line height (×), paragraph spacing — the same number always feels the same, so it's easy to remember and reproduce.

Widen the letter spacing on multi-character CJK text, then tap Center — ALIGNED applies optical centering, so it's truly symmetrical. Most editors miss this detail.

4The Magic of Alignment

Automatic snapping while you drag: page edges/center, other objects' edges, even matching positions across pages.
“Guides”: pull out your own vertical/horizontal lines — the whole project shares one set of alignment references.
Select multiple objects → align or distribute them evenly.
A badge appears whenever three or more objects end up equally spaced.

5Video

Tap “Video” to pick a clip, then trim it: drag the side handles to adjust length, drag the middle to slide the whole selection and find the right moment (30-second limit).
The canvas shows a muted, looping preview — it can be resized, cropped, and masked just like a photo.
“Replace Video” swaps the content while keeping the same position and size.

6Shapes, Grids & Stickers

“Shape”: rectangles, ovals, and lines — for color bands, dividers, and background frames.
“Grid”: one tap to lay out a grid layout (two/three slots, 2×2, 3×3), then fill each slot with a photo or video.
“Sticker”: import transparent PNGs (logos, stickers) — your library is shared across every project.

7Export

“Export” opens an overview with three previews: Carousel (page by page), Continuous (a seamless long image — check how pages meet at the seams), and Threads.
Save to Photos: image pages export at full resolution as PNG; any page with video is composited into an mp4 (frame rate and mute are adjustable).
“Single Page Export” at the end of the toolbar exports only the page you're currently viewing.

8Projects & Backup

Long-press a project card on the home screen: duplicate, rename, move to a group, delete, or export a backup.
Backing up or moving to a new phone: export a backup (an .alignproj file), then on the new device use “+ → Import Project.”
Cross-project copy: select an object → Copy to Project — the layout and its assets travel together.

9Tips

Pinch and pan the canvas with two fingers anytime to see the whole layout.
A floating bar appears above a selected object: copy, lock, delete — one tap and you're done.
Once a background element is set, lock it — you'll never nudge it by accident again.
Settings → Import Font: your brand font lives in the app permanently and shows up right in the Character panel.
